Artist Statement
Write your text hereFor this project, I created Calmi, a focus and mental wellness app designed to help people stay productive while caring for their mental health. The idea came from my own experience trying to balance work, study, and self-care. I noticed that many productivity tools focus only on efficiency, leaving little room for rest or reflection. I wanted to design an app that encourages both focus and mindfulness.
Calmi combines a focus timer, a calendar, and an energy bar that tracks how focused or tired users feel. Light and dark modes provide comfort at any time of day, while meditation and reflection exercises encourage mindful breaks and healthier routines. In designing Calmi, I focused on making each feature intuitive and approachable. The focus timer uses gentle animations to show progress, the energy bar helps users decide when to rest, and navigation is simple and consistent. Meditation and reflection exercises are designed as small, reusable pieces so users can engage with them individually while keeping the overall experience connected. I also prioritized accessibility with readable fonts, clear contrast, and smooth interactions.
This project taught me how design can be both functional and nurturing. Calmi reflects my belief that technology should support people, not overwhelm them, and that even small design choices can make a big difference in creating meaningful, human-centered experiences.

Project Description
Calmi is a focus and mindfulness app designed to support students and professionals in building healthy routines. Using the Pomodoro method, it guides users through cycles of concentrated work and short, restorative breaks. What makes Calmi unique is its constellation theme, each completed session adds a star to the user’s personal sky, which gradually forms constellations over time. This visual journey transforms everyday focus into a sense of progress and wonder, encouraging consistency while also promoting balance and mental wellbeing.

She pays close attention to details such as micro interactions, navigation patterns, and accessibility features, believing that these small decisions shape whether technology feels intuitive or overwhelming. She has collaborated on digital projects ranging from dashboards to interactive tools. These projects have helped her develop a thoughtful, user-centered approach and have shown her the value of teamwork in creating effective design solutions. She continues to explore how thoughtful design can turn ordinary interactions into meaningful and inspiring experiences.
